Terrorist attack on Orthodox church in Jordan kills eight

Reuters, the New York Times, and several official sources report that three gunmen opened fire on about two hundred mourners at the Orthodox Hammoud Church in Karak, Jordan. The shooting lasted five minutes and left seven dead and thirty-seven wounded. Footage circulating online shows the attackers.

This is not the first time Christians in Karak have been targeted. Ten years ago, the 2016 Al-Karak attack took place, for which the Islamic State claimed responsibility.

Please pray for the victims; they need it. Pray for this wave of terrorism across the world to end, because we are exhausted.

Edit: A recording I had included turned out to be unrelated.

Edit: One of the wounded has died at Prince Ali Hospital, raising the death toll to eight martyrs.

Eternal glory and peace to the souls of the martyrs of Christ. May they rest in the eternal embrace of the Lord.
