My dog died today. Please pray for her, her name is Ellie

I'm a huge sinner, and I honestly don't know what I believe theologically anymore. But I know God loved her dearly, and he loved me too, because he gave me the greatest gift of my life while I was still a child. She died peacefully in my childhood garden, where she always played.

I'm sorry for your loss. May God give you comfort right now, and may you, by his grace, see her again one day in that time when the wolf lives with the lamb and the leopard rests beside the young goat, and the calf and lion and fattened animal are together, with a little child leading them (Isaiah 11:6-7).

What is this creation? Not only yourself, but also what is beneath you, without reason or senses, and it too will share in your blessings. For it will be set free from the slavery of decay, meaning it will no longer be subject to corruption, but will receive the beauty along with your body. When your body became corruptible, it did too; now that yours is made incorruptible, it will follow. St John Chrysostom

I'm so sorry for your loss. I believe we'll see our pets in heaven. They're precious creatures and God placed them here for us to look after. Losing a pet is brutal, but all that love you gave Ellie is a beautiful thing.

Abba Xanthias said a dog is a better Christian than he is, because a dog loves and doesn't judge. And Fr. Alexander Schmemann of blessed memory spoke about what it means to be remembered: that there are people for whom we exist and matter. A French writer said that telling someone you love them is the same as telling them they will never die, because a person so affirmed cannot fall out of God's eternity, since all love comes from God. How wonderful that salvation is offered and given, and that we can share it with others through our love and remembrance. Amen.

I pray God blesses and keeps you and Ellie. My dear dog Boney died on September 18, and in all my years I've never felt pain like that. I've been asking God to bless and keep her.

I'm so sorry, and I'm praying you get the comfort you need, and that Ellie is in paradise playing in her garden, waiting for you. People mourn in different ways. Some share pictures of their pets, others talk about them. There's a lot here from people saying we'll be reunited with everyone we love, animals included.
