I came out of Calvary Chapel. I got disillusioned when it went political and user friendly. I quit church entirely because I refused to sit in one that would bend with culture or the times. I read the systematic theology of every Protestant denomination and found things I agreed with and things I didn't. So I narrowed it down to the Eucharist and what each church teaches about it. That left me with Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox or Oriental Orthodox. Eastern Orthodox is where I landed. I'm a catechumen now and, Lord willing, I'll be received in 2027. ☦️

I was born into an Orthodox family, an Orthodox Nation. I cherish my way and my path to Christ. I love my Slava (the Holy Celebration only we Serbs have). My people live surrounded by Catholics and Muslims and have suffered terribly, atrocities and genocide committed by both sides (in the name of Vatican and Allah) purely because of our faith. Thank God I am Orthodox Christian! ❤️☦️☦️☦️❤️

After a long grief over a miscarried child I reached a point where I cried out to the Theotokos, because even as a Protestant I'd heard she had a special care for lost babies. Once I did that I started digging into how the Orthodox understand the death of young souls compared to what Protestants claim, and I found I agreed with the Orthodox more. I started going to Sunday services and felt like a long lost cousin come home from a far country to the family house. It's been a journey but my whole family is being received into the Orthodox Church next month. Glory to God! 🙏☦️😊

Grew up Roman Catholic and practiced it my whole life. When covid shut the churches I found myself longing for God more, and I ended up stumbling onto evangelical Christians online and got pulled into that world for a while, even going to their services. In the end their preaching pushed me to actually study church history and dig deeper into my own faith, and that road brought me to the fullness of the Truth in the Orthodox church. I've never looked back and I'm so thankful God walked me all the way home ☦️

🌍: History & Classics degree; living near the Church; matching politics/civilizational values; loving the beauty of the art and architecture; deep respect for tradition and the pioneers; not buying the other religions; a love of Gospel music. ✝️🌬️: Culture shock after leaving Africa; losing touch with friends; being stuck by geography/money/political culture; my father died; my best friend died; 5 more deaths; friendships falling apart; my industry betraying me; my other best friend died; dropping out of my hobby; my cat died; fighting and manipulation from what family is left; alcohol and drug abuse then quitting cold turkey; got baptized; the friend I had left tragically went insane; 2 more deaths leaving me the only male heir still alive; stopped traveling since my budget is now just funerals; wrecked my last connection by going all in romantically; and now literally having no option but to lean 100% on God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, because my whole life is basically just church and the Bible now. 🛐🕊️☦️🙌👑

I was born and raised a Jehovah's Witness, which is basically Arianism with a new label. I began doubting the theology after learning about the systemic child abuse inside the cult. I wanted truth and nothing but the truth, and a journey of almost ten years wrapped up a year ago when my father and I were baptized into the Orthodox Church. Now a new journey starts.

Born and raised Carpatho-Russian Orthodox! Services were never in English when I was a kid but I always loved going. The best part now is re-learning it all alongside my kids and finally getting why we do what we do instead of it just being a habit. Confusing I know 🙂 much love to the other 2nd gen grandkids digging back into it ❤️ and to our great grandparents who started the churches that made us!

My husband got interested honestly because of Dr Michael Heiser, who wasn't even Orthodox. But his work led him to the LOS podcast and he got hooked. I was a bit on the fence myself until I watched a podcast with Frederica Matthewes Green and something she said about American Protestants hit me deep, so we tried a couple of local parishes and within just a few liturgies we were itching to become catechumens 😅 I guess you could call it the Pentecostal➡️Wiccan➡️charismatic Protestantism➡️orthodoxy pipeline
