  To anyone considering this huge step, I always tell my catholic friends to read the Didache first. Look at those first century instructions from the earliest Christians. Anyone who reads it has to admit the Orthodox Church today looks exactly the same. God be with you on this beautiful journey, and feel free to ask me anything.

I nearly went Byzantine Rite but ended up going full Orthodox instead. The transition was hard but it paid off. Funny thing is, they did away with the Latin mass at my old parish after I had already left.

  It's the Catholic religion or nothing. Novus Ordo is not the Catholic religion, in fact you were never actually practicing it. That so called trad Mass you attended was already compromised, the 1962 Missal was put together under modernists and people who are in una cum. Either way, better Orthodoxy than gambling with your salvation.

  Bro, you should just be western rite orthodox. The trads aren't the answer either. The Filioque was a huge mistake.

  The issue is you can't objectively prove to me that the Filioque is right or wrong :D. And no, I'm not becoming western Orthodox or anything like that.

Leaving Roman Catholicism for Orthodoxy was the best choice I've ever made. I pray the Lord blesses every Roman Catholic making their way over, and that he shows mercy on the souls of Roman Catholics who have already passed from this life.
