I used to like Phil right up until he started going after apostolic churches.

    • opinion#1909

      Calling catholics heretics is.... 😮

    • opinion#1910

I quit listening to him after he blasphemed and claimed the Holy Spirit did a miracle that didn't happen

    • opinion#1911

because apostolic churches contradict him and what he teaches, so he can't just avoid "attacking" them

  • opinion#1907

Do Orthodox Christians treat this as a salvation issue? Like, does the Orthodox Church believe they're the only ones getting into heaven? Just wondering

    • opinion#1912

we'll never claim we're the only ones going to heaven. Honestly, we pray that's not the case. It's just that Christ's intent was for His church to be one. Schism directly works against that vision. God bless ❤️☦️

well first we'd have to define what salvation is and what heaven is.. orthodoxy teaches salvation as a lifelong journey, not a one time decision in the temporal made for the eternal. We're meant to experience heaven now by partaking in his divine nature, being shaped into his image daily through theosis (salvation), being transformed.. we do that through His Church in fellowship, the sacraments, prayer, confession, worship... We're meant to be of 1 mind and 1 judgement, 1 Lord, 1 baptism, 1 faith & 1 church. It's hard to isolate "individual salvation" issues, it's a holistic teaching, Christ's body isn't divided, so our teachings shouldn't be either.

ok. Yeah what you're calling salvation is what we'd call sanctification. Same idea, different label. We believe salvation happens the moment you turn to Christ, and then sanctification runs the rest of your life after you're saved. Appreciate the reply brother

God bless bro. Thanks for responding

Anytime. I'd really encourage you to challenge your own presuppositions or understanding of classical protestant teachings. Trying to disprove my own positions brought me incredible humility. There are lots of great videos and lectures out there. That path really helped me, and I was in your shoes not long ago. Glory to God in all things.

    • opinion#1917

They never said that. They're just sticking with the TRUE church.

  • opinion#1908

bro i get the logic in these videos but isn't this just going to create more division among christians? Like constantly comparing doctrine like that? Would genuinely like to hear your take.

    • opinion#1918

If division means bringing people closer to Christ, I'd want it 1000%. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you're doing the wrong thing, obviously these people get so mad, because deep down in their hearts they know.

    • opinion#1919

There's a risk for sure brother, but truth is ultimately divisive in nature. You'll notice I try to keep my videos respectful so that if people disagree, it's only an exchange of ideas and not an exchange of insults. I have spiritual oversight from my priest on my content, but I appreciate the feedback and concern. God bless.

    • opinion#1920

I chose oriental orthodox over Eastern Orthodox. Why did you choose eastern? You can't separate Jesus into 2 different natures.

    • opinion#1921

Why wouldn't a Christian want the fullness of the Christian faith?

    • opinion#1922

Division is already present in Christianity. This is just spreading the truth.

    • opinion#1923

Thanks for taking the time to honestly answer. I'm still a huge fan of your videos and I'm a catechumen, so I do believe orthodoxy is the truth. Again, thanks for the feedback. God bless you too brother.

    • opinion#1924

I know you don't intend to.

  • opinion#1901

Sola scriptura basically means the scripture means whatever it means to YOU. And that's exactly the problem, that's why you've got so many churches teaching so many different things. Christ already set up His church, quit trying to remake it. Christ is king. ☦️

  • opinion#1904

You can't change your life without right theology and the ascetic struggle that Tradition hands us to take on.

  • opinion#1906

So which church am I supposed to attend? Right now I watch 2819 every Sunday and read the Bible daily.

  • opinion#1902

Honest question here. Orthodox Christians believe their Church has the fullness of truth, Catholics say the same about theirs, and various Protestant groups all think their reading is the right one. But once Christians start telling other followers of Jesus they can't be saved unless they're in their specific Church, doesn't that just breed confusion and division in the body of Christ? Not saying doctrine is unimportant, it clearly matters. But when did following Jesus turn into a contest over which denomination makes it into heaven? Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life" (John 14:6), and Paul asked "Is Christ divided?" (1 Corinthians 1:13). Shouldn't we be focused on pointing people to Christ instead of acting like other believers aren't really His? Genuinely asking, because I think we should pursue truth with humility and love, not pride or a sense of spiritual superiority. 🙏

  • opinion#1903

I agree that following Christ means submitting our theology to him, and church authority matters. But how do you jump from "Christ established a church" to "that church is specifically Eastern Orthodox"? Catholics make the same argument and land somewhere else. What standard do we use to judge between those competing claims? Jesus said the only way to the father is through him. I believe Jesus was enough, and I have nothing to do with my salvation besides faith in the one true living God, it's all Jesus.
