The Three Youths in the Fiery Furnace
King Nebuchadnezzar erects a golden image and commands all people to worship it, threatening anyone who refuses with a blazing furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to bow to the idol because they remain faithful to God. The king, enraged, orders the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual and has the three bound men thrown into the fire.
The intense heat kills the soldiers who cast them in, but the three men walk freely in the furnace unharmed. Nebuchadnezzar then sees a fourth figure in the fire, resembling a son of God, and he praises the God who delivers his faithful servants.
