Saint Gregory the Theologian glimpses God's glory, not essence
What the video says
The speaker describes running to see God by ascending a mountain and withdrawing the mind from outward distractions. When looking up, the speaker barely sees the back of God while sheltered by the rock, identified as the Word of God made flesh.
Closer examination reveals that the pure and unmingled nature of the Holy Trinity, which dwells beyond all created things, cannot be seen. Only the glory and majesty of God as manifested among creatures is visible.
